Summer Camps at SafeSkills

When June and July 2012 sign up
Nurture a creative and healthy body in our 3 Great Camps: tons of creativity, art, yoga, games, karate, and art shows. Only 12 campers in each session – everyone gets individual attention!

Camp Instructors Kathy Hopwood and Beth Seigler have taught camps at SafeSkills®, Duke Sports Camps and Carolina Friends School. Beth and Kathy have taught children for over 30 years and bring a creative, playful perspective to teaching.

Kathy, in addition to her martial arts credentials, is a visual artist who has worked in various media including painting, mosaics, cement, paper pulp, and sculpture. She has had art shows in the Triangle area and has been featured in local newspapers, books and national magazines.

Beth has done martial arts for 30 years and yoga for 20. She loves movement, African drumming and the stillness of meditation. Beth’s art takes the form of building with wood and sewing fabrics. She will share her unique focus in these camps!

Each participant will create their own Go Figure - an abstract figure or animal sculpture to show in Friday’s Art Reception!
