Gentle Spirit Karate for Children
Children, ages 6 to 12 benefit greatly from a class devoted to their special needs
and skills. For this reason, SafeSkills® offers separate children's classes. Gentle
Spirit Karate is non-violent and focuses on increasing self-confidence, developing
fundamental self-defense skills, improving physical fitness, and enhancing concentration.
Now accepting new students for January 2010. Beginners classes for Boys and Girls are held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Mondays
and Wednesdays.
SafeSkills® students learn important skills and habits that will last a lifetime;
self-motivation, perseverance, self-confidence, how to work with others, determination,
and how to surpass limitations. Our holistic, non-violent approach to martial arts
allow students to develop their full potential.
Why do we call it Gentle Spirit Karate?
There are many approaches to martial arts training and hundreds of martial arts
styles. We call our approach "Gentle Spirit" because we focus on each student being
a peaceful yet strong individual. The style we teach is Shorin-Ryu Kobayashi.
SafeSkills® is a non-contract school. Dues are paid on a monthly
basis. Many martial arts schools have become 'Contract Schools' in which you have
to sign a contract that commits you to paying for a year at a time. We believe that
the quality of the experience you will have at SafeSkills® will keep you returning
to class each week
