This camp is for all children: those who are already artistically inclined and those exploring art for the first time. Campers will learn to create in many art mediums: collage, air-dried clay, jewelry, pins, paper beads, scroll hangings, fans, hanging mobiles, books and more! Come have a marvelous time being creative: draw, roll, color, glue, cut, paint, collage, sketch your way through your "inner artist."

We will play games, do yoga, learn karate, play Dragon Pole and Kime games, plus many more activities all focused on being creative. Each camper will get a camp booklet full of puzzles, drawings and word-games related to our activities. It will be a fun-filled camp!

On Friday, parents and friends are invited to attend our art show of work made in camp along with a demonstration of movement arts: yoga and karate.

Live the life of an artist by being a sculptor: an artist who creates in 3 dimensional art.  With professional artist, Kathy Hopwood, you will explore air-dried clay creating sculptures that can stand on a pedestal or hang on a wall. After viewing examples of sculptures, we will sketch and discuss ideas to be considered. You will learn the basics of sculpture structure by understanding the concepts of the three C’s: The Center, The Core and The Covering.

Campers will also learn about art gallery shows, creating a portfolio, and other aspects of being an artist. Campers receive a journal booklet to sketch, write & take notes. Being an artist is also about moving. We will do yoga poses, creative games and more! It will be a blast!

Parents & friends are invited to an Art Reception and Show on Friday.
